  KuDOS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. , Cambridge, U.K., is involved in the discovery and development of small molecule drugs based upon the science of DNA damage sensing, signalling and repair to address unmet medical needs in cancer treatment. KuDOS was acquired by AstraZeneca PLC (NYSE: AZN) in December 2005.

  Rib-X Pharmaceuticals, Inc., New Haven, CT, is a small molecule drug discovery company focused on the structure-based design of classes of anti-infective agents. The company's technology platform is built upon the high resolution crystal of the protein synthesis machinery in the cell, specifically the 50S subunit of the ribosome.

  SkinMedica, Inc. , Carlsbad, CA, a privately held specialty pharmaceutical company focused on dermatology, that markets both prescription products and cosmeceuticals (skincare products dispensed by a physician).

  SpectraScience, Inc., San Diego, CA, is medical device company that develops, manufactures and markets spectrometry systems capable of determining whether tissue is normal, pre-cancerous or cancerous without physically removing tissue from the body. With FDA approval for sale in the U.S. and the CE Mark for the European Union, the WavSTAT System is the first commercially available product that incorporates this innovative technology for clinical use. The Company's LUMA imaging technology has received FDA approval for an optical non-invasive system that is proven to more effectively detect cervical cancer precursors than conventional methods available in the market today.

  Targacept, Inc., (Nasdaq: TRGT) Winston-Salem, NC, is a central nervous system-focused biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery and development of a new class of drugs to treat a broad spectrum of diseases, including, among others, memory disorders and dementia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, ulcerative colitis, pain and Alzheimer's disease. Targacept performed its IPO in April 2006.

  VIVUS, Inc., (Nasdaq: VVUS) Mountain View, CA, is a pharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and commercialization of next-generation therapeutic products addressing obesity and sexual health.



  Acurian, Inc., Horsham, PA, provides clinical trial patient and investigator recruitment solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Through customized data mining of proprietary databases, Acurian is able to identify, contact, prescreen, and refer interested patients, as well as profile and recruit experienced investigators, quickly and affordably.

  Fluidigm, Inc., South San Francisco, CA, develops and manufactures complete systems, enabled by the integrated fluidic circuit, that revolutionize life-science research. Fluidigm's initial customer base is in the drug discovery and life sciences arena; initial products address the challenges of protein structure determination.

  InnaPhase Corporation, Philadelphia, PA, is a provider of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) solutions dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry. The company's 21 CFR Part 11 compliant LIMS suite includes solutions for: analytical development, quality control and stability testing; for DMPK/Bioanalytical studies in drug development; and for In Vitro testing. InnaPhase was acquired by Thermo Electron (NYSE: TMO) in September 2004.

  SciMagix, Inc., Redwood Shores, CA, is a provider of image informatics solutions for pharmaceutical research and development. SciMagix was acquired by BioImagene in November 2004.

  Xenogen Corporation  (Nasdaq: XGEN), Alameda, CA, exploits a unique patented imaging technology that permits the tracking and measurement of biological systems at the molecular level in whole living organisms. The company provides R&D discovery solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical manufacturing industries through its imaging and transgenic technologies. Xenogen went public in September 2004 and was acquired by Caliper Life Sciences (Nasdaq: CALP) in February 2006.

Cubic Wafer, Inc., Austin, TX, delivers proprietary platform technology to accomplish 3D chip stacking and integration of semiconductors without the size and scalability limitations of conventional flip-chip and wire bond approaches. Cubic Wafer's technology fuses integrated circuits (ICs) at the die or wafer level thereby replacing expensive system-on-chip or system-in-package solutions.  Cubic Wafer was formerly known as Xan3D Technologies, Inc.

  FatWire Software, Mineola, NY, provides Strategic Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions. Global 2000 companies use FatWire's solutions to rapidly deploy content-driven business initiatives, such as intranets, extranets, portals, and corporate Web sites.

  iJET Travel Risk Management, Annapolis, MD, specializes in providing real-time intelligence and proactive travel risk management services to multinational corporations and their employees.
